TETRA standard was defined by ETSI (European Telecommunication Standard Institute), the relevant normative body, and validated by the Italian Ministry of Communications, Ministry of the Interior and Ministry of Defence. These mobile telecommunication services are used by Armed Forces thanks to their high reliability, safety and confidentiality, and thanks to their integration between telephony and data.
TETRA sets the communication protocol for multiple access mobile radio networks provided with digital technology, and contributes to the development of multiple-producer networks and terminals to increase competition and products availability in order to benefit end users.
TETRA system is based on multiple access digital technology, and is the most innovative system of mobile radios for digital communication featuring integration between telephony and data.
